Understanding Children’s
Mathematical Graphics: Beginnings in Play.
Maidenhead: Open University Press.
Our second book is now
out. We believe that it highlights the power of rich
experiences of play, demonstrating the significance
of pretence and imagination in early childhood
education.
It reveals that where
learning cultures support and value graphicacy,
young children’s communications thorough their own
drawings, writing, maps and their mathematical
graphics support their thinking and meaning making.
We hope that readers
will be as delighted as we were to read all the
wonderful examples of children's mathematical
thinking from teachers and practitioners. Maulfry,
Editor. |
