Happy New Year to you
all! This month we have reverted to our original address:
www.childrens-mathematics.net. Typing in
www.e-magine.org.uk or
www.childrens-mathematics.org.uk will still take you here.
2006 promises to be an
exciting year for the Children’s
Mathematics Network! We are currently working in a
consultancy role with Pembrokeshire (Wales) practitioners in the Foundation Stage on
developing understanding from emergent writing to emergent
mathematics, and with Cambridge Nursery and Reception practitioners
on mathematical graphics – both with a similar focus. Courses on
different aspects of mathematical graphics this spring include
Bristol and the Institute of Education, University of London.

We are aware that both
the network and the website are unusual in focusing on young
children’s mathematics, so we hope you will continue to drop by and
explore as the website grows. It is always good to hear how interest
in children’s mathematical graphics is growing (for instance, see:
MATHEMATICS TEACHING
193 (Dec. 2005)).
Membership of the
Network is healthy and growing, and we have and increasing number of
visitors to our website from the United Kingdom, Australia and
Europe – and interest from other countries around the world!
NEW!
We have posted a recently updated version of the
taxonomy on the
