Bristol CM Network Group

As a committed Foundation Stage practitioner with a passion for Mathematics (but no specific expertise) I am keen to join up with other Teachers, Nursery Nurses and support staff who wish to promote and develop their own and their children’s mathematics. Following an inspirational training day, which introduced me to Children’s Mathematics Network, I am particularly interested in filling the gap between children’s concrete mathematical exploration and the development of mathematical representation and graphics. If anyone is interested in joining a local Network Group I am happy to co-ordinate a convenient time, provide the initial location and refreshments as our starting point.

"... workbooks were not the best thing necessarily for the children - they also limited them. For instance Ben would never have got the chance to record the 100 + 900 in a work book - more like 1+2!"
